Factors affecting the wear resistance of refractory bricks

Abrasion resistance is the ability of refractory materials to resist the abrasive effects of hard materials and dusty gases. Abrasion resistance is the nature index of refractory products evaluated and selected in the working environment where refractory materials are subject to strong abrasion by other media in the process of use. Such as the blast furnace body, coke oven carbonization chamber, high temperature solid particles gas transmission pipeline used in the selection of refractory materials, need to be selected according to the wear resistance index of various refractory products.

Factors that determine the wear resistance of refractory bricks refractory bricks are widely used in many projects, in the kiln is also set with refractory bricks, refractory bricks must not only meet the requirements of fire resistance, high temperature resistance, but also to meet the requirements of wear resistance.

Refractory brick wear resistance and temperature, some refractory bricks such as high alumina brick, it is generally believed that at a certain temperature (such as in the elastic range of 700 ~ 900 ℃ below), the higher the temperature wear resistance is lower, you can think that when the temperature increases with the increase in the elastic modulus of refractory bricks, wear resistance has been reduced. When the temperature rises and reaches the maximum value of the modulus of elasticity, the abrasion resistance increases with the decrease of the modulus of elasticity. Such as clay bricks in 1200 ~ 1350 ℃, wear resistance is even better than the room temperature. When the temperature is further increased to 1400℃ or more, the abrasion resistance decreases because the viscosity of the liquid phase in the refractory products decreases sharply. Some refractory bricks, such as chromium-containing refractory bricks, increase in wear resistance as the temperature rises.

The abrasion resistance of refractory bricks depends on the composition and structure of refractory bricks. When the composition of refractory bricks is a dense polycrystal composed of a single crystal, the abrasion resistance mainly depends on the hardness of the mineral crystals composing the material. The hardness is high, and the wear resistance of the material is high. When the mineral crystals are non-isotropic, the crystals are fine and the abrasion resistance of the material is high. When the material is composed of multiple phases, its wear resistance is directly related to the bulk density or porosity of the material, and also to the bonding strength between the components. Therefore, the wear resistance of a certain kind of refractory brick at room temperature is proportional to its compressive strength, and the wear resistance of a well-sintered refractory brick is also better. The composition and structure of the refractory brick, and the temperature will affect its wear resistance, so that the manufacture of refractory brick wear resistance will be more excellent.
