Differences and characteristics between shaft kiln and rotary kiln

At present, there are two main types of cement kilns. One type is rotary kiln (also known as rotary kiln) where the kiln barrel is horizontal (slightly inclined) and can make rotary movement. The other type of kiln barrel is vertical and does not rotate, which is called vertical kiln.

Types and characteristics of cement rotary kiln:

During the development of the cement industry, different production methods and different types of rotary kilns have emerged. According to the raw material preparation methods, they can be divided into dry production and wet production. The rotary kilns corresponding to the production methods can be divided into dry rotary kilns and wet rotary kilns. Due to the different heat exchange devices in the kiln and at the end of the kiln, they can be divided into different types of kilns. The classification of rotary kiln is as follows:

  1. Type of wet rotary kiln:

Cement kiln used in wet production is called wet kiln. Wet production is to make raw materials into slurry with water content of 32%~40%. As the slurry with fluidity is prepared, the raw materials are well mixed, the raw material composition is uniform, and the clinker quality is high, which is the main advantage of wet production.

  1. Type of dry process rotary kiln:

Compared with wet rotary kiln, dry rotary kiln has the opposite advantages and disadvantages. The dry method makes the raw material into the raw material dry powder, and the moisture is generally less than 1%, so it reduces the heat required to evaporate the moisture than the wet method. The heat consumption of hollow kiln is not low due to the high temperature of waste gas. In dry production, raw meal is made into dry powder, and its fluidity is worse than that of mud. Therefore, the raw materials are not well mixed and the ingredients are not uniform.

Types and characteristics of cement shaft kilns

At present, there are two types of shaft kilns in use in China: ordinary shaft kilns and mechanical shaft kilns.

Ordinary shaft kiln is manual feeding and manual unloading or mechanical feeding and manual unloading; Mechanical shaft kiln is used for mechanical feeding and unloading. Mechanical shaft kiln is continuously operated, and its production, quality and labor productivity are higher than ordinary shaft kiln. According to the requirements of building materials technology policy, mechanized shaft kilns are used in small cement plants to gradually replace ordinary shaft kilns.
