There are many kinds of petrochemical kilns, such as tubular heating furnace, gasifier, decomposition furnace, etc. the construction of these high-temperature kiln linings requires a large number of refractory castables. In the chemical industry standards, strict specifications are made on how to inspect and accept the refractory castables lining for petrochemical kilns after completion. The main items to be inspected are as follows:

  1. The weld size of the welding between the anchor and the furnace shell wall plate shall comply with the provisions of the design documents. The weld shall be well formed, and the surface shall be free of cracks, slag inclusions and pores, as well as residual slag and spatter.

Inspection quantity: check 3 places every 100m2, each 1m2, and check no less than 10 anchors every 1m2.

Inspection method: check with ruler and hammer. Knock the anchor with a hand hammer weighing 0.5kg. There shall be no falling off of the anchor or cracking of the weld.

How to check and accept the construction of kiln refractory materials in petrochemical industry?

  1. The mix proportion of refractory castable shall comply with the provisions of product technical documents, and materials that lose workability shall not be used.

Inspection method: observe and check the mixing records.

  1. For the construction of refractory castable, the engineering test block shall be reserved according to the construction part and the variety, brand and mix proportion of the refractory castable used in this part, and the forming record of the test block shall be filled in. The inspection items and values shall comply with the provisions of design documents and product standards.

Inspection quantity: 20m3 of the same batch number, variety, brand and mix proportion shall be regarded as one inspection batch of retained test blocks, less than 20m3 shall be regarded as 20m3, and each batch shall not be less than 2 groups with 3 blocks in each group.

Test method: check the data.

  1. The expansion joint structure, gap, distribution position and filling material of refractory castable lining shall comply with the provisions of design documents.

Inspection method: observation inspection and ruler measurement inspection.

  1. The surface expansion joint of light refractory castable lining shall be reserved in accordance with the provisions of design documents; When there is no provision in the design document, when the thickness of refractory castable lining is greater than 75mm, the surface expansion joint shall be set in a well shape along the longitudinal and transverse directions, and the following provisions shall be followed:

a) The width should be 1mm ~ 3mm;

b) The depth is 1 / 4 ~ 1 / 3 of the thickness of castable;

c) The spacing is 800mm ~ 1000mm.
